Job summary

ValueBase Consulting is seeking an OA-Functional Architect-NSX(FA2) in Harrisburg, PA. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and managing VMware NSX-T environments to ensure stability, security, and performance of virtualized networks.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN.
• Hands-on experience with vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related VMware ecosystem technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex networking and virtualization issues across multiple layers.
• Familiarity with network security best practices and micro segmentation design.
• Experience with automation/scripting using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, or REST APIs.
• VMware certifications such as VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, or equivalent hands on expertise.
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with monitoring tools (vRealize Network Insight, Aria Operations, SolarWinds, Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and administer VMware NSX-T environments.
• Manage micro segmentation and security posture.
• Perform maintenance and lifecycle management of NSX components.
• Monitor NSX health and performance.
• Troubleshoot networking and virtualization issues.
• Collaborate on architecture designs and deployments.
• Develop and maintain topology diagrams and SOPs.
• Implement automation to improve efficiency and DR readiness.
• Support incident response for network virtualization.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and escalation.
