Job summary

Belcan LLC in Des Moines seeks a Database Support Engineer to provide advanced operational support for enterprise databases and virtualization. You will manage VMware ESXi, vCenter, clusters, DR/HA, and oversee performance across compute, memory, and storage resources.

You will also support AWS/Azure cloud services, provide automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Terraform, participate in on‑call rotations, and help maintain security baselines and SOPs.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years hands‑on VMware virtualization experience.
• 1–4 years cloud environments experience.
• Experience in enterprise IT support or infrastructure operations.
• VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, vSAN, NSX preferred.
• Fundamentals of AWS/Azure/GCP, cloud networking, IAM and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support VMware virtualization environments (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, DRS/HA, vMotion).
• Monitor performance and health of virtual resources across compute, memory, and storage.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain VMs per templates and security baselines.
• Troubleshoot virtualization and cloud issues; participate in root‑cause analysis.
• Provide operational support for AWS/Azure/GCP services; monitor via CloudWatch, SolarWinds, etc.
• Assist with cloud migrations and VMware‑to‑cloud transitions.
