VLCCoordinator
We are seeking a VLC (Virtual Layout Construction) Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of virtual construction layout activities for commercial construction projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration between design and field teams. What You Will Be Doing:
- Read and interpret project specifications. Communicate and review findings with the project management team if needed. Follow up with outstanding RFIs and ensure the preconstruction layout meets specified job requirements.
- Review RFIs, PRs, and Bulletins and update preconstruction drawings.
- Review and understand the functionality of project distribution systems through one‑line interpretation. Check engineered conduit and wire sizing against NEC and voltage drop requirements. Work with the project management team to submit RFIs on discrepancies. Complete a Master Feeder Schedule for the project. Use Bluebeam to draw in preferred feeder conduit routing.
- Determine NEC‑acceptable circuit groupings, conduit and wire sizing, and preferred conduit routing for branch circuits. Then, create branch conduit schedules for individual branch panels on the project.
- Review equipment submittals to verify actual equipment requirements are met by the engineered electrical provisions.
- Produce accurate lighting control and fire alarm conduit layouts for field installation.
- Layout in‑wall and ceiling rough‑prefabrication for branch power, lighting, data, security, and fire alarm components.
- Enter prefabrication assemblies into the Mid‑City Prefab website to be built. Coordinate with field and project schedule to allow adequate time for component fabrication and delivery to the site.
- Produce prefabrication installation drawings to be sent with prefabricated products to the field.
- Create 2D Bluebeam drawings of project‑specific prefabricated components.
- Contribute to department innovation and expanding prefabricated product advancements.
Key Experience Needed to Hit the Ground Running:
- Minimum of 3‑5 years of electrical field work in a commercial construction setting
- Ability to read and interpret prints
- Comfortability with computers and ability to understand software quickly after training
