Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s seeks a Cage Wash technician in Burnet Campus, Comparative Medicine, for full-time day shift. You will clean, sterilize cages, operate equipment, and maintain housekeeping and safety routines in the vivarium, supporting the care of animals and efficient cage flow.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.

Qualifications

• Preferred: experience in supply chain, materials management or warehouse roles.

Responsibilities

• Cage Wash - Cleans & sterilizes cages, equipment, supplies, rooms (primary and secondary enclosures). Prepares refuse for disposal or incineration.
• Equipment Operation - Able to operate pressure washer and industrial cage washers, document functions in logs, maintain cages and related equipment.
• Housekeeping - Performs daily and periodic housekeeping of assigned areas, restocks inventory.
• Safety - Monitors first aid kits, eye wash stations and emergency exits; ensures washers and sterilizers are functioning.
• Supplies and Equipment - Delivers clean/dirty equipment and cages; maintains organization and flow in cage wash area.
