Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Research Technician I to support vivarium husbandry at our San Diego facility, ensuring daily animal care and room upkeep.

The role includes health checks, cage changes, colony management, and study documentation, with weekend and holiday duties in a regulated environment.

Onsite work five days a week; the position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience with animal handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 1+ years’ experience working with rodents in a research setting
• Animal husbandry, restraint, handling skills preferred
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Preferred qualifications include an Associate Degree in Biology, Vet Tech, or similar, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• perform health checks, cage changes, animal receiving, ear tagging, and sanitation
• assist with colony management and study documentation
• support operational tasks including inventory management
• conduct weekend and holiday health checks
