Job summary

NAMSA is seeking an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician to perform welfare and husbandry activities for research animals in our Ohio vivarium. You will assist with feeding, housing, enrichment, and daily documentation under SOPs, with potential involvement in basic procedures under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; ALAT certification is preferred to enable advancement opportunities within NAMSA.

Qualifications

• Experience with animal care and husbandry.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications (Outlook).
• High school diploma or GED required; ALAT certification preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform welfare and husbandry activities for animals according to SOPs.
• Clean equipment and maintain vivarium sanitation.
• Administer daily feeding and monitor appetite and feces patterns.
• Document observations and animal housing movements.
• Assist with training of staff on husbandry tasks.
• Support during animal procedures under supervision.
