The Job in a Nutshell:

The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is responsible for assisting the Vitamin and Body Care Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the vitamin and body care departments.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service and creating a positive customer experience daily.
  • Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence while adhering to all policies.
  • Creating inviting, full, and shopable departments.
  • Assisting in ordering for vitamin and body care departments and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Managing margin, driving sales, and ensuring overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
  • Ensuring all in-stock products meet company standards.
  • Handling special orders and merchandising shelves, endcaps, and displays.
  • Participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock activities.
  • Training and monitoring department personnel and assigning tasks.
  • Conducting product demos and addressing performance issues with the department team.
  • Supporting store opening and closing activities, including Daily Sales Reports (DSR), cash handling, and cashier responsibilities.
  • Handling register functions, including backup cashiering, customer returns, and customer complaints.
  • Maintaining safety and security of customers and staff.
  • Responding to customer questions using company standards and policies.
  • Continuously increasing product knowledge and utilizing inventory management software like SAP.
  • Working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a commitment of five days, 40 hours per week, and attending mandatory meetings.
  • This position has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities but is not the overall Manager on Duty.
  • All employees are expected to be proactive and flexible to ensure the success and growth of the company.

    Qualifications

    Recipe for Success:

    • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
    • Experience in grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Experience in vitamins/supplements preferred.
    • Ability to pass food safety training and maintain certifications.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain focused.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Highly organized with attention to detail.
    • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks.
    • Cashier training and currency counting skills required.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
