Job summary

Carson Valley Health in Nevada is seeking a Staff Nurse to assess health status, supervise medication self-administration, and provide health education within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team. The role covers administrative tasks and patient care per program policy.

• Current RN licensure in the State of Nevada.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Acute-care clinical and/or psychiatric nursing experience required.
• Certification in gerontological or psychiatric nursing desirable.

Responsibilities

• Completes an admission geropsychiatric nursing assessment for every client according to unit standard.
• Implements necessary precautions as needed for each client.
• Monitors clients on an ongoing basis to identify health needs, problems, and/or symptoms.
• Communicates relevant clinical and other client care information to Program Director, Medical Director and Treatment Team members as necessary and appropriate.

The staff nurse also provides health education for clients and families as needed or requested. They function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and perform administrative, clerical, and other tasks according to program policy. They demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of performance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited college of nursing.
