Job summary

Wake County Public School System in Cary, NC seeks a Visually Impaired (VI) Itinerant Teacher for Crossroads II, to provide direct special education services and instruction for students with vision loss.

The role requires a NC Professional Educator's License in Visually Impaired, a Bachelor's in Special Education, and experience with ECC and IEPs. It is Exempt and Monday-Friday with occasional evenings.

The position collaborates with SES staff and families to ensure access and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Eligible for NC Visually Impaired license.
• Experience with IEP development and ECC.

Responsibilities

• Assess individual needs of students.
• Set measurable goals and objectives.
• Develop and monitor IEPs.
• Maintain progress records.
• Provide materials and staff training.
• Submit reports on time.
• Communicate with parents and staff.
• Schedule regular VI meetings.
• Attend VI and IEP meetings.
• Perform other related duties.
