Job summary

Advance Auto Parts, Inc. is seeking a Visual Store Planner based in Raleigh, NC. This role partners with Planogram, Category Management and Inventory teams to ensure correct item eligibility and deployment for assigned categories.

You will support store teams by optimizing assortments, conducting weekly store eligibility audits, and coordinating planogram updates with merchandising and inventory partners to drive sales.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of retail and/or project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • JDA/Blue Yonder experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide planogram reporting needs to category management during line reviews (adjacencies, heatmaps, space productivity).
  • Partner with Real Estate on NSO, Remodel, Relocation projects for space optimization and merchandising guidelines.
  • Conduct weekly audits to verify store eligibility and manage inventory distribution controls.
  • Manage and resolve ServiceNow ticket requests for company owned stores.
  • Validate planogram (POG) and off‑shelf placement according to Planning Calendar.
  • Monitor and validate disposition plans for non go forward SKUs during planogram resets.
  • Lead store-specific POG conversions, sales reviews, and lifecycle changes.
  • Attend cross‑functional meetings to align merchandising and inventory strategies.

Job Summary:

Visual Store Planner role is responsible for partnering with the Planogram, Category Management and Inventory teams to oversee item eligibility and deployment to stores for assigned categories. This role acts as a liaison to the store teams to ensure we have the right assortment in place to say yes to our customers and grow sales in the Front Room.


What will you do?


  • Provide planogram specific reporting needs to category management during the line review process, including but not limited to: adjacencies, heatmaps, and space productivity based on sales

  • Partner with Real Estate on NSO, Remodel, and Relocation projects, leading conversations around space optimization and merchandising guidelines

  • Conduct weekly audits to determine store eligibility is correct; manage controls to ensure correct inventory distribution

  • Manage and resolve ServiceNow ticket requests & inquiries to support company owned stores

  • Validate planogram (POG) and promotional off shelf placement eligibility and deployment according to Planning Calendar

  • Monitor & validate execution of disposition plans for non go forward SKUs as part of planogram reset

  • Responsible for conversion and management of store specific POGs, including sales reviews & life cycle changes

  • Participate in cross functional meetings & weekly planner touch bases to connect with merchandising and inventory partners to highlight and escape issues, share and/or receive updates to business strategy

  • Assist in early store resets of planogram updates to identify potential gaps in new SKU inventory


Qualifications


  • JDA/Blue Yonder experience strongly preferred

  • Proficient in MS Office software including Excel and Access

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with various audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage critical thinking and problem solve using large data sets

  • Visual Merchandising: Acumen in optimizing the presentation of products and services to create a pleasing customer, while maximizing profitability.

  • Merchandising Strategies: Understanding of merchandising strategies and techniques used to increase sales, such as product placement, fixture usage, promotions, advertising, and competitive pricing.

  • Planogram Creation: Experience creating product planograms using visual merchandising software, ensuring accuracy in product SKUs, inventory required, fixtures needed, and product placement, while considering shopability and profitability.
