Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Visual Store Planner role is responsible for partnering with the Planogram, Category Management and Inventory teams to oversee item eligibility and deployment to stores for assigned categories. This role acts as a liaison to the store teams to ensure we have the right assortment in place to say yes to our customers and grow sales in the Front Room.What will you do?Provide planogram specific reporting needs to category management during the line review process, including but not limited to: adjacencies, heatmaps, and space productivity based on salesPartner with Real Estate on NSO, Remodel, and Relocation projects, leading conversations around space optimization and merchandising guidelinesConduct weekly audits to determine store eligibility is correct; manage controls to ensure correct inventory distributionManage and resolve ServiceNow ticket requests & inquiries to support company owned storesValidate planogram (POG) and promotional off shelf placement eligibility and deployment according to Planning CalendarMonitor & validate execution of disposition plans for non go forward SKUs as part of planogram resetResponsible for conversion and management of store specific POGs, including sales reviews & life cycle changesParticipate in cross functional meetings & weekly planner touch bases to connect with merchandising and inventory partners to highlight and escalate issues, share and/or receive updates to business strategyAssist in early store resets of planogram updates to identify potential gaps in new SKU inventoryQualificationsJDA/Blue Yonder experience strongly preferredProficient in MS Office software including Excel and AccessExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with various audiencesDemonstrated ability to leverage critical thinking and problem solve using large data setsTop 5 Required Technical Skills:Visual Merchandising: Acumen in optimizing the presentation of products and services to create a pleasing customer, while maximizing profitability.Merchandising Strategies: Understanding of merchandising strategies and techniques used to increase sales, such as product placement, fixture usage, promotions, advertising, and competitive pricing.Planogram Creation: Experience creating product planograms using visual merchandising software, ensuring accuracy in product SKUs, inventory required, fixtures needed, and product placement, while considering shopability and profitability.Detail-Oriented: Ability to complete tasks while paying attention to all areas involved, no matter how small, ensuring thorough and accurate execution.Business Acumen: Understanding how a business operates, including financial literacy, how an organization makes money, organizational knowledge, and short and long term growth strategies.Top 5 Required Leadership Skills:Ownership: Sense opportunities and obstacles that create barriers to resultsSelf-Development: View weaknesses as an opportunity to learn and grow; Actively work to improve weaknessesInnovate: Analyze advantages and disadvantages to new ideasInfluence Others: Can compromise (win concessions) without damaging relationshipsCollaborate: Prioritize business relationships beyond your team to gather differing perspectives and information, and work together; Recognize potential impacts of choices upstream, downstream, and across teams.Certifications, Experience, and Education:Certifications: NoneExperience: 2-4 years of of retail and/or project management experienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experienceCompany Overview:Advance Auto Parts, Inc. is a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider that serves both professional installers and do-it-yourself customers.
