Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a Planner Merchandise Presentation Space at its Headquarters in Katy, TX. The role focuses on executing visual merchandising strategies, creating effective planograms, and coordinating fixtures and graphics to enhance the in-store experience.

The candidate will collaborate with Merchants and Category Management to ensure space aligns with assortment goals and will use Excel and JDA for analysis and execution.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent years of related work experience is required.
• 2+ years of related experience in merchandising, space planning, or a similar field is required.
• Working knowledge of the JDA Category Management Suite
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, actionable way
• Ability to prioritize workload across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy in deliverables
• A team-first attitude

Responsibilities

• Execute visual merchandising strategies to support product presentation and store experience.
• Create planograms, coordinate fixture and graphic fulfillment, and review store setups.
• Collaborate with Merchants and Category Management Teams to align space strategies.
• Conduct analysis and post-mortem reviews to guide adjustments to assortment and space allocation.
• Participate in special projects, innovative fixture initiatives, and continuous process improvements.
• Work with store operations and real estate to bring merchandising strategies to life.
• Communicate with store teams to ensure planograms are executed accurately.
