Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors in Katy, TX seeks a Merchandise Planner for MLB/NFL Apparel and Licensed Novelty to drive financial and assortment planning. You will build class insights, create item-level plans, reconcile assortment plans with financial targets, and support vendor discussions with data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of related work experience required.
Experience in a retail environment preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and develop creative solutions.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with partners at various levels.

Responsibilities

Build class and subclass insights and create item-level plans.
Reconcile quarterly or seasonal assortment plans with financial targets.
Maintain financial plans, open-to-buy, and monitor trends with replenishment, buyers, and planning managers.
Generate insights and support vendor discussions using planning systems and reporting tools.
