Job summary

Broken Arrow Public Schools is seeking a Visual Media Specialist to serve as the district's lead photographer and video storyteller, capturing students, staff, and district activities. The role covers action, event, portrait, editorial and marketing photography, plus professional videography and editing, with collaboration across Communications for assets used in publications, websites, and social media.

Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: 2-3 years in photography, videography, digital media production; portfolio required.
• Skills: Proficient with DSLR/mirrorless systems, lighting, audio; proficiency in Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the district's primary photographer and video storyteller.
• Plan and execute professional portrait and promotional shoots.
• Provide visual coverage of district schools, athletics, arts, and events.
• Produce video stories and promotional pieces for internal and external audiences.
• Edit photography and video to meet quality and brand standards.
• Collaborate with Communications to identify visual storytelling opportunities.
• Coordinate production schedules across schools and departments.
• Maintain organized archive of photos and videos and metadata.
• Maintain equipment and assist in identifying production needs.
• Stay current with photography, videography, and editing techniques.
• Support live events and multi-camera productions.
• Assist Communications staff with visual content needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
