Role Objective

The Visual Manager is a member of the store leadership team who drives ALO’s visual and product strategy in the store. This individual is passionate about planning, product knowledge, reporting analysis and visual execution—focusing on efficient and effective visual merchandising. The north star is ensuring that the store is customer‑ready at all times. Duties require constant movement in and around the store, including the sales floor and back‑of‑house. When not actively assisting guests, the Visual Manager initiates additional tasks as needed to keep the store clean, safe, inviting and operating efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support execution of key operational and visual processes.
• Champion strong visual standards for the sales floor by leveraging business performance data.
• Lead strategic product presentation and merchandising, ensuring product recovery, restock, destock, and visual merchandising changes align with directives from the General/Store Manager.
• Plan visual floor changes through payroll management and adapt visual support to business needs.
• Own visual direction from planning through execution to meet company expectations, budgets and timelines.
• Utilize reporting tools with management to identify business opportunities with product placement, outfitting and stock levels, making changes as necessary.
• Represent the business in meetings and conference calls in partnership with the General/Store Manager.
• Review, monitor and partner with the General Manager to manage the budget, reporting and other business data; inform planning processes such as quarterly business review and sales planning.
• Protect optimal performance through future planning workflow business needs.
• Ensure the Visual team embodies ALO’s mission and guiding principles, communicating effectively to guests.
• Lead a team through accountability, continuous coaching, talent development and effective communication across the Operations and Visual team.
• Establish internal & external pipeline through succession planning and recruitment strategy.
• Oversee execution of deliverables on the sales floor, achieving KPI’s while protecting operational efficiency and visual sets.
• Collaborate and implement the General/Store Manager’s vision, working cross‑functionally with business partners to support organizational goals and reach visual and sales floor KPI’s.
• Demonstrate an ability to navigate the organization with a balance of business need and brand culture.

Qualifications

• 3‑5 years of retail or related industry leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Agile, able to handle multiple tasks in a changing environment.
• Independent work ethic, time‑management skills and personal accountability.
• Aligns with and embodies ALO’s Guiding Principles.
• Requires constant movement in and around all areas of store.
• Ability to lift, push, carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl and/or twist, and safely climb up/down a ladder.

Schedule

To support the needs of the business and our teams, we expect all full‑time employees to have open availability and to work variable shifts, including peak days and weekends. All employees are expected to work during the company’s blackout period—from the week of American Thanksgiving (including Black Friday and Thanksgiving weekend) through the end of the holiday season (the 1st week of January).

Compensation

The Visual Manager’s base pay ranges from $33.00 to $37.00 per hour. Visual Managers are eligible to participate in the company’s monthly store incentive bonus program, which may increase total compensation. The listed range is one component of the total rewards package; other rewards include clothing allowance, employee discount, 401(k), medical, dental and vision plans, commuter benefits and ALO Wellness Club access.
