Job summary

Acuren is seeking an API Inspector to support operations in Alaska. The role focuses on visual and non-destructive examinations of pressure retaining equipment in accordance with API/ASME standards, with responsibility for accurate reports and technical recommendations.

Ideal candidates will have API 510/570 certification and up to 10 years of field experience, with API 653 or CWI being a plus. Willingness to travel and strict adherence to safety practices are required.

Qualifications

  • API 510/570 certification required or in progress.
  • 2+ years on-site experience or 5–10 years in the field.
  • API 653 or CWI is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
  • Experience supporting petrochemical facility engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and non-destructive inspection of pressure retaining equipment per API/ASME.
  • Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
  • Provide technical recommendations on repair, re-rate, or replacement.
  • Advise on welding and metallurgical issues as needed.
  • Provide guidance on non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
  • Comply with client and Acuren safety practices; participate in site safety initiatives.
  • Travel as required.

Job description

Position Summary

Acuren is seeking an API Inspector to support operations in Alaska.

Responsibilities
  • At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
  • Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
  • Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
  • Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
  • Provide technical guidance, on a application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
  • Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives
  • Willingness to travel if needed
Requirements
  • Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/570
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
  • Additional API 653 or CWI a plus
  • In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards
  • Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers
