Job description

August Bioservices, headquartered in Nashville, TN, is a high‑growth contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that provides drug discovery, formulation, and manufacturing services to pharma and biotech companies worldwide. We are investing in a new state‑of‑the‑art facility adjacent to our current site to support rapid expansion. This role offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to global health.

The Visual Inspector is based at the Nashville, TN site and will inspect filled sterile and non‑sterile products for defects as part of the qualification and start‑up of a new Aseptic Formulation and Filling facility. The position ensures that inspection activities comply with regulatory requirements, cGMP, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect products for various defects
• Document work accurately and contemporaneously on batch records and protocols
• Set up and operate inspection equipment
• Perform line clearance activities
• Calculate inspection results and reconcile batches
• Minimize production downtime through advanced troubleshooting skills
• Assist maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance and calibration activities
• Communicate with supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and clients professionally
• Follow relevant SOPs, work instructions, etc.
• Be willing to work overtime when required

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills to perform required batch calculations
• Ability to visually detect defective vials
• Ability to maintain visual inspection qualification requirements
• 1+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical or other GMP‑regulated environment
• Preferred: Experience in sterile packaging, clinical trial packaging, or related manufacturing
• Good documentation and communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Team‑player
• Strong mechanical skills and learning agility
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
