Elayne is seeking a Visual Designer in New York City to help define a new category of family and financial software. This hands-on role requires creativity and ownership over the visual aspects of both product and marketing materials, enabling families to navigate complex workflows.
The ideal candidate has 2–5+ years of design experience, proficiency in tools like Figma, and a strong portfolio. The company offers a salary between $90k to $120k annually, along with benefits like health insurance and a 401(k). Elayne is an equal opportunity employer, valuing ability and experience.
Each year, $3 trillion in wealth is transferred to the next generation. Yet the process behind that handoff is broken: faxes, phone trees, spreadsheets, and grief. It can take families hundreds of hours, tens of thousands of dollars in fees, and often years to complete.
Elayne is building the software layer this process has always been missing. We're both the infrastructure professionals build on and the product families use directly, automating everything from the first form to the final account transfer. Backed by Y Combinator and Accel, we have thousands of families already using Elayne to get through one of the hardest stretches of their lives. We have a real product in people's hands, a brand and design language we care deeply about, and a long road of hard, genuinely impactful problems ahead.
As Elayne’s Visual Designer, you will help build the visual system behind a new category of family, legal, and financial software.
This is a full-time role based with the team in New York City.
We're a small, high-trust team working in a category that's complex, personal, and important. We move quickly, communicate directly, and hold a high bar for the experience we deliver. We care about outcomes more than process. The best work here comes from being close to the details: a confusing user moment, a sales gap, a customer question, a workflow that needs to be clearer. We expect people to pull in the right teammates and turn what they learn into better systems for everyone.
We expect this person to use AI as leverage: exploring directions faster, prototyping interactions, generating rough concepts, speeding up production. AI should help you move faster, but the final work should still feel careful, intentional, and human.
The expected salary range for this role is $90k to $120k annually, plus equity. This range represents a good‑faith estimate for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will depend on your experience, portfolio, scope, and fit for the role.
Elayne also offers health insurance and a 401(k) plan.
Elayne is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants based on ability, experience, and potential, and do not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic under applicable federal, state, or local law.
