City Hearts: Kids Say YES to the Arts is seeking a Visual Arts Teaching Artist for part-time, in-person instruction in Los Angeles County. The role focuses on delivering high-quality arts education to K–12 students, including underserved populations.

• Ability to design engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons.

Responsibilities

• Provide dynamic, developmentally appropriate instruction in the designated art form.
• Scaffold lessons to meet diverse learner needs and maximize student engagement and growth.
• Design and implement lesson plans aligned with program structure and goals.
• Plan and lead rehearsals, performances, exhibitions, and student showcases as required.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies in collaboration with school personnel.
• Demonstrate punctuality, preparedness, and professionalism at all program sites.
• Serve as a liaison between City Hearts and school/site staff and administrators.
• Support field trips and program events as assigned.
• Attend required check-ins with Program Leadership and professional development sessions.
• Represent City Hearts professionally in all communications and on-site interactions.
• Maintain attendance records and complete all required documentation on time.
• Participate in surveys and data collection for internal evaluation and funder compliance.
• Communicate progress and site-related concerns with Program Leadership.
