Job summary

East Side Union High School District in California is seeking a skilled Visual Artist Coach to collaborate with the Visual Arts Instructor, supporting and enhancing classroom instruction. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience across various artistic mediums and a passion for mentoring and guiding students in their artistic development.

This role will reinforce techniques, lead demonstrations, provide one-on-one coaching, and help prepare materials to maintain an effective art

Qualifications

• Experience as a visual artist with expertise in multiple mediums (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.).
• Strong technical proficiency in art forms and teaching techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
• Strong organizational skills for managing materials and classroom resources.
• Passionate about teaching and working with students of diverse skill levels.
• Patient, approachable, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classroom instruction by reinforcing techniques and providing hands-on guidance to students.
• Lead demonstrations of various artistic techniques across different mediums.
• Offer one-on-one or small group coaching to students needing additional support.
• Help maintain a productive and organized classroom environment.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials and art supplies for lessons.
• Assist in planning and executing class projects, exhibitions, and critiques.
• Collaborate with the instructor to develop lesson plans and activities.
