Qualifications

• Professional painter and educator with demonstrated expertise in painting and visual design.
• Strong knowledge of painting media (oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media).
• Familiarity with industry standards and current trends in painting and studio practice.
• Ability to teach career-readiness skills, including portfolios, self-promotion, and exhibitions.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience teaching, mentoring, or coaching youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach students in advanced painting methods, color theory, layering, glazing, and mixed media.
• Collaborate with Visual Arts teachers to design augmented sessions.
• Introduce industry standards in painting, material prep, archival practices, and display.
• Guide students in building portfolios, artist statements, and personal branding.
• Model best practices in studio safety, material handling, and sustainability.
• Support student participation in art showcases, exhibitions, and competitions.
