Job summary

National Chavez Center is seeking a Visitor Experience & Facilities Technician to support educational programs, interpretive activities, and visitor services at the César E. Chávez National Monument.

The role collaborates with the National Park Service to deliver inclusive, engaging experiences and to manage events, outreach, and resources. The position requires weekend work, outdoor duties, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, public speaking, group facilitation, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with diverse students, educators, visitors, partners, NCC staff, and NPS staff.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfort with indoor/outdoor work and physical tasks up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver educational and interpretive programs for school groups and tours.
• Operate the Visitor Center on weekends.
• Support maintenance, grounds, and water features.
• Create and update curriculum and interpretive resources.
• Coordinate outreach with educators and community partners.
• Assist with events and cultural programs; track participation and feedback.
