Job summary

The Cesar Chavez Foundation is seeking a Community Service Coordinator to support multiple community programs across sites in the Southwest. You will manage Afterschool, Resident Social Services, Meal Distribution, Health and Wellness, and Outreach with a focus on ethical service and high professionalism.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, generating reports, and fostering partnerships to meet site programming needs.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual preferred.
  • MS Office (Word/Excel/Access) proficiency required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Live scan/background check required.
  • Must provide TB test results.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Must commute between sites.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified (or able to obtain).
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

Community Service Coordinator Position

The Chavez Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves low-income families in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas through affordable housing and social service programs.



THE RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Maintain all ethical practices of the Chavez Foundation. by serving the community with character, integrity, dignity, and a high degree of professionalism

  • Manage all Si Se Puede Community Center Programs, which consist of an Afterschool Program, Resident Social Services, Meal Distribution, Health and Wellness and Community Outreach

  • Friendly, outgoing personality that establishes a welcoming environment within the facility for members and visitor

  • Skill in maintaining record keeping and document retention systems and in compiling comprehensive reports



THE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Preferred - Have at least 48 units of college credit from a two-year accredited college or related experience in Education/Youth Development/Community Services

  • Preferably bilingual

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Access) required

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Live scan Fingerprint/ background check

  • Must provide proof of a negative TB test result taken within the last 2 years

  • A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years

  • This position does require the individual to commute between sites

  • Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified (or obtain within 30 days) and maintain those certifications

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required for transportation, set up and conducting activities

  • The ability to create partnerships to ensure all site/programming requirements are being met

  • Essential Worker Position (This is not a work from home position)
