Experience Champaign Urbana is seeking a Visiting Research Lab Technician at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology. This full-time role involves managing laboratory tasks that support research on anaerobic microorganisms, with a focus on strain collection, data analysis, and coordination of experiments within a collaborative research environment.
Master’s Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or animal sciences; and documented experience working in a research laboratory.
Master’s Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or animal sciences with a focus on the study of anaerobic microbiology; documented experience of working for a minimum of 3 years in a microbiological research laboratory; and experience working with fermentation and recombinant DNA techniques would be highly desirable.
This is a 100% full-time Visiting Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close date. The budgeted salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
