Job Description
The Athletic Training Program at the University of Indianapolis invites applications for a one-year Visiting Professor of Athletic Training position in the Department of Athletic Training beginning August 18, 2025. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching graduate courses in the CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program and providing service to the University, college, and/or program. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to apply for an anticipated tenure-track position opening the following year. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching and mentoring, with a demonstrated ability to engage students in the classroom using interactive student-centered approaches. Candidates should be able to foster an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse perspectives and encourages critical thinking.

Experience
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous college/university teaching experience with experience in a CAATE Graduate Professional Athletic Training Program preferred.
- Experience as a clinician preferred.
Education
- A doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, DAT, DHSc) in athletic training or a related field (e.g. kinesiology, exercise science, curriculum and instruction), preferred. Master’s prepared will be considered.
Licenses/Certifications/Credentials
- Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the Board of Certification and eligible for Indiana licensure, required.
Essential Functions
- Teach graduate courses in the Master of Science in Athletic Training program and prepare students for clinical practice.
- Potential course responsibilities: therapeutic exercise, therapeutic modalities, applied kinesiology, clinical integration, evidence-based methods.
- Service to the University, college, and/or department
- Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s).
- Demonstrate respectful, ethical, responsible behavior.
- Abide by the University’s policies, procedures, and rules.
- Perform employee responsibilities as detailed in employee handbooks and policies.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties, including special projects, as required or assigned.
