Responsibilities include monthly supervisory visits, documentation, patient and caregiver instruction, and effective communication with physicians. Maryland-licensed RNs with pediatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland (or compact state).
• Diploma or Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year clinical experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Pediatric care experience required for pediatric work.

Responsibilities

• Performs supervisory visits monthly with assigned caseload and reports to Clinical Manager.
• Establishes and monitors quality patient care and standards for private duty nursing.
• Submits documentation of supervisory visits within required timeframes.
• Instructs patients and caregivers according to the plan of care.
• Performs monthly nursing assessments and reports changes to the team.
• Communicates patient condition changes to physicians as appropriate.
• Reports changes to the Plan of Care from supervisory visits to the clinical manager.
• Demonstrates commitment to customer service and quality of care.
• Maintains clear written communication and adherence to policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Comprehensive Nursing Services Inc. is hiring a Visiting Nurse Supervisor (RN only) for the Anne Arundel County area

Position Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients. Collaborates with patient’s clinical manager, case managers, and other members of the patient care team.

Reports to: Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Administrator

Experience and Qualifications:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland (or compact state). Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Diploma or Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care-related field preferred. Possesses a minimum of one year’s clinical experience. One year of supervisory experience preferred. Must have direct pediatric care experience within the past 3 years if applying to work with pediatric patients.

Competency/Skill Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to utilize the telephone for internal and external communications. Knowledge of nursing assessment skills. CPR certified. Competent in the provision of nursing care.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Performs Supervisory Visit monthly with assigned caseload of patient(s) and reports findings to appropriate Clinical Manager (Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing).
2. Establishes and monitors quality patient care and standards to ensure the provision of high-quality private duty nursing services.
3. Submits completed documentation of the home care supervisory visits within the established time parameters.
4. Instructs patients and caregivers according to the plan of care.
5. Performs nursing assessments monthly and reports significant changes in the patient’s condition to the appropriate team members.
6. Communicates to physicians any changes in the patient’s condition as appropriate.
7. Reports all changes or revisions to the Plan of Care discovered during monthly supervisory visits to appropriate clinical manager.
8. Demonstrates a high degree of commitment to customer service and quality of care provision.
9. Exhibits good written and verbal communication skills.
10. Provides care according to the organization’s policies and procedures.
11. Completes other duties assigned or requested.

Pay Range: Pay for this position is by visit, between $50-$60 per visit
