Position SummaryThe Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer position as a one-year sabbatical replacement for our organic chemist. This position is not renewable. The successful candidate will teach the two-semester organic chemistry lecture and laboratory sequence for our chemistry, biochemistry, and biology majors. Some courses taught may be offered evening, weekend, off-site, and/or online. This is a 10-month contract starting August 1, 2025.

Basic QualificationsRequired Qualifications- MS in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to function effectively in our department and within the university
- Strong background in organic chemistry
- Evidence of teaching organic chemistry
- Experience with NMR , FT-IR, and other routine instruments used in organic chemistry
Preferred Qualifications- Ph.D. ( ABD okay) in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field
- Experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
