Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of robot mechanical structure, actuation, and basic electronics (motors, sensors, batteries, wiring).
  • Proficiency with 3D printing workflows: preparing models in slicer software, running FDM/SLA printers, and post-processing prints.
  • Comfortable assembling parts with hand tools, fasteners, and adhesives and able to follow mechanical drawings or assembly instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Workspace upkeep: Maintain a safe, organized hardware lab and charging area.

Meta is seeking a visiting hardware engineer to join Meta Superintelligence Labs. You should have a keen interest in producing new, open science to make embodied agents more intelligent.

Visiting Hardware Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Robot repair and maintenance: Diagnose and repair commercial robots following established repair protocols

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape) for minor part modifications
  • Soldering and machining skills
  • Prior experience supporting a robotics research lab or data collection operation
  • Comfort with light scripting or running diagnostic tools on robot firmware/SDKs
  • Undergraduate / MS degree in robotics
