Job Description Summary
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Oakland University seeks to fill a one-year visiting faculty position in Solid Mechanics, CAD and FEA starting August 15, 2025. The person who fills this position will likely teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, and might be expected to assist the department with service activities.
The salary is competitive and the fringe benefits are excellent. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the potential to be effective in teaching. Relevant professional and/or industry experience is also desirable.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work for the University in the United States on a full-time basis. The University will not sponsor work visas or permanent resident applications for this position.

The Mechanical Engineering Department has 21 full time faculty members who are dedicated to excellence in research, teaching and service. The department hosts four material focused centers: the Automotive Tribology Center, NSF IUCRC – Center for Industrial Metal Forming ( CIMF ), Fastening and Joining Research Institute ( FAJRI ), and the NSF IUCRC – Center for Composite and Hybrid Materials Interfacing ( CHMI ), all of which are active in research.
