Position Overview

We seek an instructor for BIOL1001 – General Biology 1, a three credit course lecture course with an enrollment of 80-100 students.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering BIOL 1001 lectures, MWF 2-2:50PM. This individual is the faculty-level instructor in charge of the courses and is responsible for all aspects of the course, including lectures, online postings using D2L (Brightspace), student activities/assignments, exams, maintaining office hours, and grading. The individual will oversee 2-3 teaching assistants who will run discussion sections. This individual will be part of the BIOL 1001 team who will work collaboratively on material, exams, and final grading.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.

Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Five years of teaching experience or other
suitable professional experience.
