Position: Visiting Assistant Professor (One-Year, Full Time)

Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate for a Visiting Assistant Professor (One-Year, Full Time) position. Located in Willimantic, Connecticut, Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University, approximately 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. It is part of the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position offers substantial health and retirement benefits.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University is hiring for the 2025-26 academic year for a one-year, full-time (non-tenure track) Assistant Professor role. While the department is especially interested in candidates with expertise in statistics, data science, or related fields, applicants with expertise in any area of mathematics will be considered. Responsibilities include teaching a full course load, advising students, participating in department meetings, holding regular office hours, and fulfilling other faculty duties. All courses are taught in person on campus; online instruction is not part of this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Ability to teach undergraduate statistics, precalculus, calculus, and liberal arts math courses.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
