Job Description Summary

The Department of Linguistics at Oakland University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor.
This is a one-year position running from August 15, 2025, through August 14, 2026.
To ensure a seamless transition in the TESOL coordinator role, we seek to hire a faculty member with strong expertise in TESOL , Sociolinguistics, and Educational Leadership. Courses in TESOL and Sociolinguistics are integral to both our undergraduate and graduate programs. Additionally, given that the majority of our post-baccalaureate TESOL students are K-12 educators, and considering the longstanding collaboration between our TESOL program and the Michigan Department of Education, it is essential that the successful candidate possess extensive knowledge and experience in Educational Leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in either Linguistics or Education AND an MA in TESOL . ABD considered. If Ph.D. is not completed by the time of appointment (August 15, 2025), the appointment will be at the rank of Visiting Instructor. College-level teaching experience in TESOL and Linguistics.
