Position Description:

The Department of French and Italian in the Division of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at The University of Iowa seeks a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Italian for the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach introductory and intermediate language courses as well as literary and cultural surveys. The teaching load, contingent upon enrollments, is eight courses per year.





Required qualifications: Ph.D. with a specialization in a relevant area of Italian studies, native or near-native fluency in Italian and English, a record of excellence in teaching Italian at the college/university level, and experience with online/hybrid teaching.Desirable qualifications: expertise in language pedagogy and the use of multimedia technology in SLA.

Education Requirement:
