Job description

Visiting Assistant Instructor/Assistant Professor of Instruction - World Languages (Spanish)

The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida, Tampa, is seeking candidates for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure earning position to teach Spanish at the rank of Visiting Assistant Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction, starting August 7, 2025. This is a visiting position with the possibility of extension for a second and/or third year. The salary is $50,000, non-negotiable.

Recommendation Letters: Three (3) letters of recommendation must be sent directly by the recommenders to Anne Latowsky at alatowsk@usf.edu by the application deadline. Alternatively, letters can be sent via a dossier service (e.g., Interfolio). Please note that the department will not contact recommenders directly.

Important: The position is open until filled, with initial review beginning on May 16, 2025. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. MA from an accredited institution in Spanish or a related field.
  2. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.
  3. Demonstrated success in teaching Spanish language courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience teaching all levels of Spanish language courses and cultural content courses.
  2. Experience with online instruction.
