Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization into its next era of impact. The CEO will work closely with the Board, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners to advance the mission, secure resources, and strengthen youth outcomes through strategic leadership and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will be a visible community leader with a track record of nonprofit leadership, fundraising success, and the ability to translate vision

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; advanced degree preferred.
• Significant nonprofit leadership, organizational management, fundraising, and community engagement experience.
• Proven ability to secure major gifts and philanthropic investments.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting and reporting experience.
• Ability to build relationships with boards, donors, staff, volunteers, and community leaders.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience guiding growth, change, or strategic transformation.
• Knowledge of youth development, education, workforce development, or related fields.
• Experience working with a governing board and volunteer leadership structure.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership to advance the mission, vision, and values.
• Fundraising & Resource Development: Lead fundraising efforts and cultivate donors, partners, and funding streams.
• Community Engagement & External Relations: Serve as spokesperson; build relationships with community leaders and funders.
• Organizational Leadership & Operations: Ensure safe, high-quality programs and recruit/mentor staff.
• Financial Stewardship: Oversee financial planning, internal controls, and resource management.
• Board Relations & Governance: Develop and support Board engagement and governance processes.
