Job summary

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. supports the Ritenour School District in recruiting a visionary superintendent to lead academic excellence, equity, and community engagement in St. Louis, Missouri.

The successful candidate will be a visible, relational leader who uses data-driven instruction and collaborates with the Board, staff, families, and partners to ensure every student has opportunity and belongs. The start date is July 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Proven record of improving student achievement and organizational outcomes.
• Long-term commitment to the district with focus on student growth.
• Experience as an instructional and organizational leader in diverse school communities.
• Strong knowledge of teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to engage students and authentic student voice in decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead with focus on students’ academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Be visible and build authentic relationships with students, staff, families, Board and partners.
• Strengthen teaching through clear priorities, high expectations, data, and evidence-based practices.
• Advance equity and belonging with access to opportunities for multilingual and underrepresented students.
• Build trust through transparent communication and two-way community engagement.
• Lead courageously while maintaining fairness, empathy, and respect.
• Align resources and priorities around measurable outcomes.
• Develop staff and leaders and foster collaboration and well-being.
• Engage a diverse community and reflect student voices in decisions.
• Balance tradition with innovation and prepare students for a changing world.
• Cultivate partnerships and advocate for district resources.
