Job summary

Radford University seeks a visionary museum professional to serve as Director of the Radford University Museum of Art. The Director will provide strategic leadership for development, operations, collections, exhibitions, educational outreach, and campus and community engagement.

The role includes shaping a formal mission, collections plan, exhibition strategy, and partnerships with arts organizations to support the university’s academic mission, and supporting the Museum Studies program through

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Museum Studies or closely related field.
Significant museum or arts administration leadership experience.
Experience in university art museums or academic museum environments.
Strong knowledge of collections management, exhibitions, education, and public engagement.
Excellent written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership, vision, and administrative direction for the Radford University Museum of Art.
Lead the development and implementation of the museum’s mission, goals, strategic plan, policies, and procedures.
Develop and oversee exhibitions, educational programming, and community outreach.
Collaborate with faculty and students to strengthen Museum Studies programs and student opportunities.
Manage budgeting, fundraising, partnerships, and donor relations in support of the museum.
