The Village of Surfside Beach seeks a seasoned City Administrator to lead daily operations, align policies with the Mayor and City Council’s priorities, and deliver municipal services to residents and visitors.

As the top executive, you will oversee all departments, manage finances and personnel, and build intergovernmental partnerships while navigating seasonal population shifts. A strong track record in local government, budgeting, and ethical leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of service in a local municipality, preferably in management with significant financial responsibilities.
• Strong municipal financial and budgeting background.
• Able to attend all City Council meetings and City-sponsored events.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and bondable.
• Public Funds Investment Officer certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act training certificates, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations, personnel management, departmental performance, intergovernmental relations, and community partnerships.
• Provide leadership, direction, and coordination across all municipal departments, programs, and services.
• Ensure policies and strategic priorities from Mayor and City Council are implemented efficiently.
