Job summary

ChristianaCare's Newark Campus seeks a visionary Chief Nursing Officer to lead nursing practice, patient care, quality and safety initiatives, and workforce engagement. This senior role reports to campus leadership and collaborates with the Chief Nurse Executive to align nursing strategy across the system.

The CNO will oversee the Newark and Middletown nursing leadership teams, drive transformational change, and partner with executives to achieve operational excellence while advancing nursing

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• Current RN license and eligibility for Delaware licensure.
• Certification in nursing leadership or a clinical specialty is required.
• Progressive senior nursing leadership experience in a large healthcare system.
• Proven ability to lead nursing operations, quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for nursing services across the Newark Campus.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing nursing leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Advance nursing practice, clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives.
• Drive workforce engagement, succession planning, and talent development.
• Partner with executive and physician leaders to achieve goals and operational excellence.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; ensure regulatory compliance.
