UT Health San Antonio invites applications for the Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The appointee will provide strategic vision, administrative leadership, and oversight for education, patient care, research, and service within a leading academic health center.

The Chair will lead faculty recruitment, budgeting, and program development, promoting clinical excellence, scholarly productivity, and interprofessional collaboration across the school.

Qualifications

• DDS/DMD (or equivalent) and CODA-accredited OMFS training.
• ABOMS board certification.
• Proven excellence in clinical practice, education, scholarship, and leadership in OMFS.
• Scholarly productivity and contributions to the specialty.
• Professor with Tenure appointment.
• Minimum 10 years in academic/healthcare with 5+ years leadership.
• Texas licensure eligibility for dental practice.
• Ability to lead faculty, residents, and programs.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative leadership.
• Experience with strategic planning, clinical operations, and financial stewardship.

Responsabilités

• Provide visionary leadership for the department including planning and education administration.
• Oversee budgets, resource alignment, and policy compliance.
• Lead faculty recruitment, retention, development, and succession planning.
• Develop equitable compensation and incentive models for faculty.
• Expand patient referrals, access, and clinical productivity.
• Explore new revenue opportunities and partnerships to support growth.
• Foster collaboration and a high-performing departmental culture.
• Ensure accreditation standards for predoctoral and residency programs.
• Advance clinical excellence, education, and interprofessional learning.
• Lead research and scholarship aligned with institutional priorities.
• Engage community through partnerships with associated deans.
