Job summary

The Merage Jewish Community Center seeks a CEO to lead a large, membership-based organization in Irvine, with an $18 million operating budget and 250+ staff. The role combines strategic direction, fundraising, community leadership, and financial stewardship, aligning Jewish values with ongoing program excellence.

The CEO will unite diverse stakeholders, guide capital and programmatic growth, and ensure an inclusive, welcoming environment for members and supporters across Orange County.

Qualifications

• Executive leadership with experience guiding large nonprofit organizations.
• Proven ability to develop and execute long-term strategy across multiple programs.
• Track record of major-gift fundraising and donor relations.
• Strong governance experience with boards and committees.
• Experience overseeing multi-million dollar operating budgets.

Responsibilities

• Articulate a compelling vision and serve as principal spokesperson for the JCC.
• Partner with the Board and committees on governance and strategy.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and develop senior staff.
• Lead donor cultivation and solicit major gifts to support initiatives.
• Oversee financial practices, budget development, and HR management.
