Job summary

The Limestone County Board of Education seeks an experienced Assistant Principal to serve as an instructional and administrative leader, working with staff, students and the community to ensure a high quality educational program and to help accomplish the school’s mission.

The role requires collaboration with the principal, planning and supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal policies while managing resources and technology use to support teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in educational administration.
• Valid Alabama administrator certificate.
• Three years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern education principals and practices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current curriculum and instructional trends.
• Ability to plan and organize effectively.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate personnel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system's vision, goals and priorities.
• Assist in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the instructional program.
• Assist in interpreting and enforcing policies, regulations and laws.
• Assist the principal in personnel functions including recruitment, orientation, training and evaluation.
• Assist in securing, maintaining and managing material resources.
• Assist in improving student attendance and scheduling for instruction.
• Assist with extracurricular activities and supervision of classroom instruction.
• Assist with curriculum development and report preparation.
• Ensure health and safety procedures and facility maintenance.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in leadership.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and community to meet school goals.
