Job summary

HLBMA LLC is seeking a Vision Systems Technician to maintain and optimize automated vision inspection systems in a cutting-edge EV battery manufacturing environment.

You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and update inspection parameters to maximize equipment performance and yield, while collaborating with Engineering and Production teams to resolve issues and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Vocational/Associate degree in electronics, automation, robotics, manufacturing technology, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust vision inspection system parameters to support production quality and process stability.
• Review and maintain vision inspection recipes and product specifications to ensure inspection accuracy.
• Conduct image quality verification and system calibration checks.
• Support model changeovers and implement error-proofing measures to prevent quality defects.
• Perform preventive maintenance on inspection equipment, including performance checks and component replacement.
• Troubleshoot inspection system errors, including vision system faults, PLC communication issues, and over-/under-detection conditions.
• Support corrective maintenance and assist Engineering teams in diagnosing recurring issues.
• Record maintenance activities, system adjustments, and inspection performance data.

Summary

The Vision Systems Technician supports production quality and equipment performance within an advanced EV battery manufacturing environment. This role maintains, troubleshoots, and optimizes automated vision inspection systems to prevent quality issues and maximize equipment efficiency, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The Vision Systems Technician analyzes inspection performance, adjusts system parameters, supports equipment maintenance, and collaborates with Engineering and Production teams to resolve inspection system errors and improve reliability.

The Vision Systems Technician analyzes inspection performance, adjusts system parameters, supports equipment maintenance, and collaborates with Engineering and Production teams to resolve inspection system errors and improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust vision inspection system parameters to support production quality and process stability
• Review and maintain vision inspection recipes and product specifications to ensure inspection accuracy
• Conduct image quality verification and system calibration checks
• Support model changeovers and implement error-proofing measures to prevent quality defects
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities on inspection equipment, including performance checks and component replacement
• Troubleshoot inspection system errors, including vision system faults, PLC communication issues, and over-detection or under-detection conditions
• Support corrective maintenance and assist Engineering teams in diagnosing recurring inspection system issues
• Manage vision system spare parts and support replacement of critical components
• Perform Vision Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to verify inspection system accuracy and repeatability
• Record maintenance activities, system adjustments, and inspection performance data
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to improve inspection system reliability and efficiency
• Provide guidance and technical support to Vision Equipment Operators and assist in developing their technical capabilities
• Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations
• Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
• Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Vocational certificate or Associate degree in electronics, automation, robotics, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred
• Equivalent relevant experience may be considered

Experience

• 1 to 3+ years of experience working with automated manufacturing equipment, inspection systems, robotics, or industrial machinery
• Experience troubleshooting production equipment or automated inspection systems preferred
• Experience with machine vision systems, cameras, lighting, or optical inspection preferred
• Experience in battery, semiconductor, automotive, or other highly automated manufacturing environments preferred
• Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment

• Working knowledge of automated inspection equipment and machine vision systems

• Ability to document maintenance activities and inspection results accurately
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while monitoring automated equipment in a continuous production environment
• Ability to provide technical guidance and support to equipment operators
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for periods of up to 12 hours: safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, nitrile gloves, ear protection, and cleanroom suit
• Must be able to repeatedly lift, push, and pull materials or equipment for periods of up to 12 hours
• Must be able to repeatedly stoop, twist, and bend for periods of up to 12 hours
• Must be able to repeatedly reach overhead for periods of up to 12 hours
• Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout production areas for extended periods
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems

Work Environment

• Work is performed within a manufacturing facility, including cell and electrode production, clean room, and equipment support areas
• Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals
• Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment
• Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory
• Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas
• Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment
