Job summary

The role requires licensing/certification and coordination with the Southwestern Blind Rehabilitation Center team for inpatient and occasional telehealth work. The position emphasizes evaluation, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff to enhance independence and quality of life for visually impaired

Qualifications

• Knowledge of policies and procedures of blind/vision rehabilitation
• Ability to develop a basic written blind/vision rehabilitation plan from assessment results and develop more complex plans with supervision
• Demonstrated KSAs: knowledge of evaluations, treatment plans and coordination with other professionals

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess needs, capabilities and limitations; set goals and prescribe a treatment plan
• Work as part of inpatient rehabilitation team coordinating care for blind and visually impaired Veterans
• Maintain communication with interdisciplinary SWBRC staff to meet Veteran needs
• Independent evaluation, treatment and management of a blind rehab program with adaptive skills
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and outcomes
• Serve as subject matter expert for providers on vision rehabilitation
• Work schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm
