Job summary

The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota Medical School invites applications for a tenure-track (Assistant Professor) or tenured (Associate or Full Professor) faculty appointment in visual neuroscience.

New faculty will join OVNS to bridge clinical and basic research, collaborating with Neuroscience researchers. MD/PhDs and those building cross-disciplinary programs are encouraged to apply. A strong focus on imaging, modeling, and cross‑species studies will be valued.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a PhD and/or MD degree.
• US citizen or be able to secure permanent resident status.
• Non-traditional backgrounds are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Establish an outstanding research program with leadership in translational vision science.
• Develop extramural funding mechanisms to support research goals.
• Contribute to service through seminars, committees, and national/international activities.
• Bridge between basic neuroscience and clinical OVNS collaborations.
