Job summary

Rockwell Automation's AI Center of Excellence is seeking an AI Scientist to advance Vision-Language-Action (VLA) systems for industrial environments, translating multimodal research into deployable solutions for real-world manufacturing and automation.

You will collaborate with AI researchers, control engineers, and software developers to design systems that integrate perception, language understanding, and action, with a focus on robustness, safety, and reliability in complex operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with vision-language and multimodal AI systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of vision-language-action architectures for industrial applications.
• Design multimodal learning systems that integrate perception, language understanding, and decision making.
• Adapt and fine-tune multimodal foundation models for domain-specific tasks.
• Develop Agentic AI frameworks connecting perception models with tools and control systems.
• Evaluate robustness, safety, and reliability in real-world environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research prototypes into deployable solutions.
• Contribute to technical leadership through publications and mentoring.
