Job summary

The teacher will work under the principal, ensuring compliance with RCPS policies and curriculum goals, while maintaining records and developing professional practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education.
• Virginia teaching license with Special Education – Blindness/Visual Impairments Pre‑K‑12 endorsement.
• Knowledge of RCPS curriculum and inclusive teaching practices.
• Ability to infuse technology into curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plans an instructional program that meets students' needs and abilities.
• Instructs assigned classes regularly at designated times and locations.
• Creates a classroom environment that supports student engagement and objectives.
• Maintains accurate records and follows RCPS policies.
• Assists administration in implementing school policies and rules.
• Establishes relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community.
• Supervises teacher assistants and volunteers.
