Job summary

Apple, Inc. is seeking a CAD Engineer of Custom Infrastructure Support within the Silicon Technologies group in Beaverton, Oregon.

You will provide expert support for Cadence custom flows and tooling, building utilities and scripts, and supporting Virtuoso layout and schematic software to improve productivity and release workflows. The role requires a BS degree with at least 3 years of experience, strong Python scripting, and Unix/Linux proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide full support for Cadence custom flows, tool development, installation and maintenance.
• Develop utilities and scripts for design workflows and productivity.
• Support Virtuoso Layout and schematic software and release flows based on revision control systems.
• Drive design methodology to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with CAD and Design teams to provide CAD services, utilities, and scripting.
• Assist in tool configuration and application setup.
• Contribute to test development, automation and regression flow support.
• Create and maintain relevant documentation.

Responsibilities include general user support for both layout and schematic designers, tool customizations, Unix/Linux support and development testing of new tools and flows.

Description

In this highly visible role, you will:- Provide full support for Cadence custom flows, tool development, installation and maintenance- Work with the design team to develop utilities and scripts.- Support Virtuoso Layout and schematic software and release flows based on revision control system- Drive design methodology to increase productivity- Work with CAD team to provide general CAD services support, utilities, scripts while also working closely with the Design and Layout teams- Support tool configuration and application- Involvement in test development, automation and regression flow support- Create and maintain relevant documentation

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of BS + 3 years of relevant industry experience
• Experience in Python programming/scripting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in analog and digital new product development IC CAD support using EDA tools
• Experience supporting Cadence Composer Virtuoso, Layout tools, VXL, PCELLs, and CDFs
• Experience in programming languages such as Python, DFII, SKILL, Perl, Tcl
• Proficient with Unix / Linux OS, utilities, and scripting
• Strong communication skills both oral and written.
