Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Virtualization Platform Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN

The Virtualization Platform Engineer - Specialist is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in system design, management, and support of all back-end infrastructure components related to the Baptist Health virtual infrastructure environment. This includes capacity planning, performance monitoring, and design of the underlying storage infrastructure components, the hypervisor, host server and cluster management required to provide highly available business system and data services. The position is responsible for maintaining infrastructure located throughout the region in multiple data centers as well as in a hybrid-cloud model.

The Virtualization Platform Engineer works closely with other members of the Platform Services department, as well as various other IT teams and project managers, to design and implement complex business solutions which may include participation in or leading of multiple simultaneous enterprise IT project initiatives.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

• Degree in Computer Science or related field or minimum of 5 years related experience in lieu of degree

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in storage administration, with a focus on Dell EMC storage solutions.

• Proficiency in managing Dell block and unstructured data storage solutions.

• Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere for virtualization management.

• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation and task management.

• Familiarity with SAN, NAS, and hybrid storage architectures.

Certifications: preferred not required:

• Relevant certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), and Microsoft Certified: PowerShell.
