Overview

Susquehanna is seeking a Virtualization Engineer to design and build infrastructure for trading platforms, collaborating with infrastructure engineers and software developers to create scalable systems.

What You'll Do:

1. Automate and Evolve: Develop and maintain tools primarily in Python and Bash, utilizing Jenkins for automating server deployments, monitoring, and maintenance, focusing on performance improvements.
2. Optimize: Tune virtualization environments and network stacks for performance, throughput, and latency; perform root-cause analysis of system issues.
3. Collaborate: Work with Strategy Developers and Quantitative Researchers to understand business needs and implement scalable solutions using SAN and high-speed networks.
4. Create: Design and implement a next-generation VM platform in Openstack to replace the existing VMWare environment.
5. Monitor: Track cluster capacity, forecast resource demands, and develop monitoring and capacity planning tools.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience with Linux and/or Windows HPC platforms.
• Experience with kernel-level and I/O tuning tools like sysctl, strace, tcpdump, netstat.
• Hands-on automation experience with Python or similar tools.
• Deep experience with open-source virtualization technologies such as Openstack, RedHat OpenShift, kubevirt, or similar.
